Trần Ngọc Định

The Founder and Head of School

Master Trần Ngọc Định (born in 1951 in Nam Định, Vietnam) is the founder of Viet Anh Mon and a true pioneer of Vietnamese martial arts in Europe. His martial journey began in Vietnam, where he studied under his uncle and later with renowned masters in Saigon and Hanoi, learning both Vietnamese and Sino-Vietnamese systems.

In the 1970s, after moving to Italy, he became one of the first to teach Vietnamese martial arts in Europe. Since then, he has shared his knowledge for more than five decades, inspiring thousands of practitioners across Europe and North Africa. Over time, generations of students have passed through his classes and seminars — a living testimony to his lifelong dedication.

In 1998 he officially established Viet Anh Mon (“The Luminous Gate of Martial Art”), bringing together the five major styles he mastered — Võ Bình Định, Thiếu Lâm Châu Gia, Thái Cực Đường Lang, Bạch Mi, and Vĩnh Xuân — into a comprehensive system. This unique synthesis reflects his vision: martial arts as both technical mastery and a path of personal growth.

Today, the legacy of Master Trần Ngọc Định lives on in numerous schools and instructors in Italy, Switzerland, and abroad. His teaching is not just about combat techniques but about discipline, respect, and harmony, values that continue to shape new generations of martial artists.
